I come from Saipan. (born in Japan, biologically Korean) about 15 years in Korea, and 6~7 years in Jeju basketball; Darts BVB (Beach Volleyball), PhotoHunt, Bowling, Darts BVB6 (Beach Volleyball 6, Fall 2011) to make things easier for Dan Nabben and wanted to be a "cable" between local foreigners and Koreans passion, dreams and desires seems to be spent in unproductive way "God does not roll dice" -Albert Einstein- the island is always about blending in. Blend in, enjoy the culture, enjoy the God-given nature. But at some point, share your culture, share your values I learned miracles do happen. I like Jeju Furey because it is not just about charity but educating people in ways nobody ever thought about. There are many important life, value- changing messages that Furey Events spread indirectly. Messages that foreigners are not foreigners but locals who love this place and are willing to spend their time to make a better community. Messages that the global community is not just about speaking perfect English but is about doing something together in the most productive way and many more things. I like Jeju Furey in the beautiful potential that it gives to the island. Someday, Furey events will help teenagers spend their weekends doing charity and for them to learn to do the same and definitely will be better communicators than Perfect Point seekers for their English proficiency tests. I can talk forever. What I don't like is the weight for the president. Too many events. We may need some type of system to reduce pressure. my defining moments would be the one from early events when I first learned about Jeju Furey. They are actually more bitter memories. I learned my weaknesses. I didn't know I had arrogance in me. It was emotional and destroyed some parts to rebuild myself. the event that I most like to see would be Jeju Furey signing MOU with Jeju government or JDC for full support for each other. the event that I least want to see has always been farewell events. "“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that frightens us most. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and famous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that people won't feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in all of us. And when we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” |
