contributions to Jeju Furey and its events by providing significant and lasting improvements.
- to John & Jaqueline Nabben for teaching the proper values and for putting together extremely well-organized events that inspired the initial fundraising efforts of Jeju Furey.
- to Christian LeBlanc, Matt Leman, & Bill for the roles they played in finding bamboo poles at the Hyatt and thinking that they could be turned into a beach volleyball net.
- to Sanjay Govind for organizing Jeju’s first beach volleyball tournament. This was the inspiration for Jeju Furey BVB 1.
- to a foreigner en caritas for showing by example the invaluable benefits of learning Korean. Jeju Furey would be a fraction of itself without this.\
- to SAFP.org (Save a Family Plan) for their charity model that empowers the beneficiary.
- to John Nabben, Mark Steyn, Peter Kreeft, SAFP.org, et.al. for instilling the mentality that individual people - not administrators - know what's best for themselves.
- to Mark Steyn for the adages of not 'asking for something for nothing' and '...warts and all' (i.e. 'The Bad' page, and other similar instances).
- to Mark Steyn for showing how to not take one's self too seriously by posting quotes of people who criticize and berate him as badges of honour.
- to Troy MacLellan for showing that getting sponsors is just a matter of asking (re: the pool tournament he ran in May 2008).
- to Nick Cook for the outstanding bvb logo and bowling logo.
- to the creators of Ultimate Frisbee in general, and to Ultimate Frisbee players and the KUPA (Korea Ultimate Player's Association) in particular for the idea of having games self-refereed.
- to KUPA (Korea Ultimate Player’s Association), and perhaps Craig Kulyk in particular, for showing that it was very much possible for organizers to also be participants in their own events which led to the notion that it is not only possible but perhaps essential.
- to Hugh MacDonald for finding a way to build excellent, inexpensive, and portable bvb courts on the beach. All subsequent beach volleyball tournaments and the money they have raised rest on this essential, critical, and highly creative innovation.
- to Chandra Weaver for setting the tone with respect to spreading the talent when forming BVB teams, for insisting teams switch sides every seven points, and for establishing the height of the net.
- to the 2006 International Touch Rugby tournament organizers in Seoul for providing the idea of having team-specific tents with team name cards over top.
- to Daniel Kojetin for his significant improvements to the net system.
- to Troy MacLellan and his student for writing the letter that explained to sponsors what the charity was all about. A huge turning point in the recruitment of sponsors.
- to Myles Horne for his part in completely improving the organization of the closing ceremony of the BVBs.
- to Josh Hutchison for motivating the need for lunches to be made available.
- to Fred Dustin for indirectly being the inspiration to give back to the local community.
- to Troy MacLellan for finding an excellent use for the previous BVB tourney banners.
- to Brady Paron for starting the Clean-Up Crew and vastly improving the closing ceremony of the BVBs.
- to Troy MacLellan & David Kirchner for pointing out the need to have a pre-determined referee schedule for the Sunday games of the BVBs.
- to Troy MacLellan & Brady Paron for their initiative to have ashtrays made available during BVBs.
- to Josh Hutchison (we think) for pointing out that four BVB courts could fit between the gazebo's north stairs and the sea at 이호 prior to BVB5.
- to Matt Harris (near the end of BVB5) for being the motivating factor to find a way to squeeze out one more championship from the BVBs.
- to Troy MacLellan for pointing out that four courts could fit between the gazebo and the bridge prior to BVB7, and for inspiring the Jump Photo (since BVB1).
- to Kendra Pugh for talking MBC-TV into coming to Iho for BVB6 and producing a piece for their morning television show. The benefits of this piece were invaluable, particularly with sponsors and recruiting students to participate and volunteer
- to Caroline Pringle and Jen Harris for setting the wheels in motion for Jeju Furey's main organizational logo.
- to Dave Seibert and/or David Kirchner for finding a far more efficient way to clean the sand.
- to Sara Sokola for this website, the Year-in-Review .pdf ebooklet, the pamphlet for sponsors, improving the registration system, and court-numbering.
- to Mary Rager Summers for 'champs' shirts.
- to Swing Island and their boat party which inspired Jeju Furey's Boat Party.
- to 임영섭 '써비' & 정승원 '사랑이' for coming up with the idea of having a Swing Island BVB tourney.
- to Gidget Alaman whose Orphanage Christmas Party led to the Jeju Furey Orphanage Drive 1.
- to Joe Benedetti for telling the story of how a collegiate team got legendary Canadian men's basketball coach, Jack Donohue, to coach for them by doing nothing more than simply asking. This inspired approaching professional beach volleyball player, 한지연 (Han Jee'yeon), and media celebrity, Lisa Kelley.

- to Farrukh Israr for starting '8ball'.
- to Kevin Pollak for teaching that you have to keep posting.
- to Stephen Smith for new/alternate way of displaying the brackets (based on time slots). This alternate display not only speeds up the process of assigning teams and refs to courts, it makes pre-determining referees a lot easier.
- to Eric Sweet for improving the Standings spreadsheets for all the sporting events that use them.
- to Melissa De Sole for Sponsorship Recruiting brochures and the Thank You letters
